Light Painting Zoom Pull

In this episode of the Light Painting VLOG I travel to Los Angeles, California and meet up with Fellow Light Painter and Light Painting Brushes Brand Ambassador Jason Rinehart to prepare for our gig at Wango Tango 2019. Jason and I meet at the airport then get mesmerized by the view of downtown Los Angeles from the hotel that we stayed in. We all had killer hotel rooms with incredible views at the Intercontinental Los Angeles. Jason and I shoot some zoom pull light paintings in the hotel room and test out some ideas as we wait for Efren and Melissa to arrive the following day. Stayed tuned for PART 2.

Light Painting Photography Contest Winner, May 2019

May 8, 2019 by Jason D. Page

The winner for the Light Writing contest is… Hugo Lomas Fernandez, a.k.a. SFHIR for this excellent light writing that also included a camera rotation! SFHIR said this about his winning image!

Whooooow great news! Thank you very much, Im very happy to win at my first picture in a contest. The picture was created at Madrid Rio park and is very simple, it was created in two steps first one is a graffiti bomb calligraphy with a warm lantern dedicated to my good friend frodo DKL. I use this lantern to scan people for portrais but is also a good tool for calligraphy and it was built by edu Cajigal special for me. The second step is a camera rotation with the Matadero background that is an artistic building iluminated in red.

Here are a few shots of the tool SFHIR used to create the image:

For this winning Hugo will receive a prize package filled with light painting tools from our sponsors COAST Flashlights, and Light Painting Brushes ! Please support these awesome companies that support our light painting art from, without them this contest series would not be possible!

New Light Painting Guinness World Record 1350 Orbs

April 5, 2019 by Jason D. Page

Two Light Painters from India have broke the “Most Light Orbs in a Photograph” Guinness World Record. Sridhar Muthukrishnan and Sures Narayanan have captured 1350 Orbs in a single photograph. This is the 3rd time the record has been broke since the original 200 Hand Spun Orb record that was set back in 2014. The orbs in this image were created using a mechanical orb making device that was pulled across the frame during a single long exposure. Congratulations to these two for setting the bar even higher, WHO’S GONNA BREAK IT NEXT? Below is the making of video, Enjoy.
