Light Painting Tutorial: The Power of Slowing Down

The Three Main Ingredients of Every Light Painting
- Camera Settings – ISO, shutter speed, and aperture define how your sensor captures light.
- Lumen Output – The brightness of the tool or light source you’re using.
- Movement Speed – How quickly or slowly you move the light during exposure.
Changing just one of these ingredients can dramatically alter your final image. If your Light Paintings aren’t as bright as you’d like, and you’re already using your brightest light and correct camera settings, try this:
Slow down your movements! Moving your light source more slowly allows more light to be captured in each part of your image, enhancing intensity and clarity.
