Lamborghini Light Painting NFT

September 23, 2021 by Jason D. Page

Lambo Light Painting by Paulo Renftle

Unless you live under a rock I am sure you have heard that NFT or (non fungible tokens) are all the rage in the world of collectables these days. The concept behind NFT’s, especially with Projects like THETA, with their Digital Rights Management is really intriguing. I am not going to get into all the technical stuff behind how NFT’s work but something that I personally think is game changing is the fact that if you assign an NFT to your digital asset (Light Painting) you can essentially get paid every time your image sells going forward. When you or someone in the future sells your image the NFT assigned to it, via a smart contract, you will pay you a percentage of the sale forever! Lets say you sell your Light Painting NFT today for $100. a year from now the world catching on to how amazing you are and that same Light Painting now sells for $1,000,000.00! Via the smart contract assigned to your Light Painting NFT you can get whatever % you assigned to it, let’s say 10%. This can happen every time the NFT sells forever, creating passive income! That is good for ALL types of artists!

Anyway enough on that, the point of this article is to share that Lamborghini is launching their very first NFT and IT’S A LIGHT PAINTING, yes the image above! This Light Painting was created by photographer Paulo Renftle The NFT Drop goes live on September 25th! Lord only knows what these things are gonna sell for but if you’ve got some bucks to spend you can check it out here https://www.elysiumbridge.org/live

Light Painting a Picnic Under The Stars

September 23, 2021 by Jason D. Page

Light Painting Under the Stars

In this Light Painting video I drag my Aunt and Uncle to the top of a mountain while I trace them with light to create a Light Painting Picnic Under The Stars. It was an absolutely beautiful night in the mountains of North Carolina. I am grateful to be able to share a night of creating under the stars with them and I think they appreciated how beautiful the night was with the fireflies and stars all around!

Here is the link the the Lightman Light Painting Tutorial I referenced in the video: https://youtu.be/2vCaiF9DSxU

The Camera settings I used were:
ISO 400
F22, F11 and F2.8 all in the same exposure.
Bulb Mode
Total Exposure Time was 358 seconds.

The Tools that I used can be found here:

Light Painting Photography Contest Winner – September 2021

September 6, 2021 by Jason D. Page

Light Painting Photography Contest 06

The winners for the Light Painting Photography ORB contest is the Light Painting Dynamic Duo of Lena and Madlen a.k.a. “Charisma Meets Light” for the fantastic image above that took nearly 25 minutes to create! Here is what Lena had to say about their winning creation!

I started with light painting in 2018 and Madlen came on board one year later. We are two light painting artists from Saarland, Germany. We both enjoy and have great enthusiasm for long single exposure photography, painting with light at night, using creative ideas and various tools! Because we share the same passions we in 2019 we formed the project CHARISMA MEETS LIGHT.

We created this image in an abandoned location in France. I had the idea to put two big orbs on a leash as if they were two dogs. We didn’t have a backlight scanner, but luckily we found an old petrol canister in the hall that we placed a Wowtac flashlight behind the model Madlen that worked for the backlight.

Madlen was both a light painter and a model for this image, she created the orb on the left with neon tube cover! I created the other orb on the right side and I drew the dog leashes with sparklers. Finally, we illuminated the hall. Altogether we needed 25 minutes to complete the photo at the second attempt.

We stayed in the hall all night. The hall was dusty and we wanted to protect the lens using the lens cap. The funny thing was that for the first attempt we forgot to remove the lens cap on the camera and almost wanted to break it off, but our motivation was stronger!

Gear was a Sony Apha 7 III
Camera Settings:
ISO 100, Aperture 8, exposure time 25 Minutes, Bulb Mode

Check out more Light Painting work from Lena and Madlen on their Facebook and Instagram pages listed below! https://www.facebook.com/LenaundMadlen https://www.instagram.com/charismameetslight/

For this winning image Lena and Madlen will receive a prize package filled with light painting tools and treasures from our sponsors COAST Flashlights, Rosco and Light Painting Brushes ! Please support these awesome companies that support our light painting art from, without them this contest series would not be possible!
