The theme for the light painting photography beginning January 1st 2017 is Spirograph a.k.a. Physiogram, a.k.a. Harmonograph. If you have never heard of these before they are super fun and easy to make! If its cold where you live right now this is one you can do inside, however this is a contest so thinking outside the box will probably make your image stand out… so inside may not be where you create yours hmmmm…. Below is a video tutorial and some examples to help you get started. The video tutorial shows one way to make spirographs but its not the only way, another way is by using a tool called the Spirojib that was created by John Griffin more on the SPIROJIB TECHNIQUE HERE Enjoy.
