This new real time light painting video from JanLeonardo is RAD! “HOW IS THIS DONE?”, you may ask…. well I get this question all the time, my general answer is I don’t really know. I know that Pipslab developed the luma2solator a while back that can give this effect in real-time, but I have no idea how the luma2solator works. There are a lot of people out there that are now doing this type of light painting and I know they are not all using the Pipslab technology so can someone PLEASE share how to do this IN REAL TIME! NOT in an aftereffects type program…..Please post in the comments if you know something…

The international successful Lightart photographer JanLeonardo Wöllert and the Swiss-Lightart photographer Anton Julmy, in collaboration with Jochen Merker of btb-production/videokunst and Till Pöhlmann – light juggler and painter brought together in the former sanatorium of Beelitz their techniques.
It was a fantastic night and very creative, which opened up a wealth of possibilities in the combination of both systems.
The video clips are uncut. The speed was increased for faster review. Some Capture records show several series of experiments.

I guess this can be done with a hi-speed rotating device with lights, and thanks to the persistance of vision, your eyes cannot see the flicker or the rotation, but only the final image (or animation).

the light sources rotate with faster speed step.
