LPP ∇ So Mr.Pearson this new light painting animation is pretty awesome how long did this little masterpiece take to create?
DP ∇ Thanks! This took place over about a year. Each scene was between 24-70 shots, each shot was about 2-3min.
LPP ∇ Woah so right around a million shots… I noticed you were out in the wilderness in a few of the scenes run into any critters out there or maniacs in the City?
DP ∇ The first pan after the title sequence was shot in Yosemite, CA – After the 70+ shots, I packed up and began to walk back to our camp site.
I noticed a four-legged creature in the distance and my heart kinda dropped once I realized was I was looking at a bear in the moonlight! I just turned and slowly crept away while looking over my shoulder a bunch of times to make sure it wasn’t following me.
LPP ∇ Thats a scary story, glad you made it back…
Did you create this animation for something specific or as a personal project?
DP ∇ This was a personal project that started out as an experiment, but quickly turned into a huge challenge that I determined to put my heart and soul into.
Very happy with it.
LPP ∇ You should be my friend, it really is great work and I can only imagine the time you put into it! Hopefully some big brand will see it and want to pay you a ton of money to use it! Congratulations!
DP ∇ Thanks man.
